Paola Mardo is a podcast host, writer, and producer. She hosts, writes, and produces Long Distance.
Paola is Head of Audio at Proximity Media where she executive produced Wakanda Forever: The Official Black Panther Podcast and In Proximity. Previously, she was Executive Producer at Pushkin Industries and worked at Sony Pictures and Annapurna Pictures. As an independent podcast producer, she developed, produced, and edited shows including The Los Angeles Times’ Asian Enough, KCRW’s Good Food, and KPCC’s The Frame.
Paola was born in Los Angeles but grew up in Manila, Kuala Lumpur, and the Bay Area. In KL, she met people from all over the world, ate the best Hainanese chicken rice, and learned about different cultures and their traditions from the Haka to Deepavali (pictured here).

Patrick Epino
Producer / Director
Patrick Epino is a writer, director, and actor. He directs and produces the documentary companion series Long Distance TV.
Patrick is Executive Producer and Host of National Film Society, a YouTube series and multimedia production company. He starred in two films you absolutely must see: Bitter Melon and Awesome Asian Bad Guys.
Patrick was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. A high school classmate took this photo of him and his friends one day before soccer practice. He’s been perfecting his off-camera selfie gaze ever since.
